Maintaining home appliances is key to their longevity.

Home appliances can break down. there are things however, you can do to prevent breaking down.


1. Proper cleaning

It is important to keep appliance in a good condition, especially if you live anywhere close to the sea. Considering that all appliances have metallic parts, it’s best to keep them dry after cleaning.

2. Regular maintenance

For all home appliances do better if they are given regular maintenance. If you can’t remember when certain appliances are due for their regular maintenance, then you can use a calendar or a planner keep with its original bills even use your phone calendar reminders, It is a good idea to keep records handy with documentation when you need to call the technician. The technician is more likely to ask you information about the appliance including, brand, make and model number.

3. Know the breaking points

stick to the recommended load capacity, if it takes 5 kg of load, then don’t ever push it beyond that limit. Every appliance is carefully stress-tested and made with certain limitations.

4. Avoid putting stress on functionality

If an appliance is made to do three tasks, then do not expect it to do a fourth task. Or a fifth. Devices are always created with a standard set of functions that will work optimally if used for those. Anything beyond the scope of functionality will result in an unhappy experience, so don’t push your devices.

5. Try not to fix things yourself

Even though it’s a good idea to try to DIY at home, it’s best not to try it with home appliances that need technical know-how.

Maintenance is an on-going process. These tips will help you get started and keep tabs on your home appliances. However, that is only a good starting point, the challenge keeping regular maintenance yourself. So try to find the time to get to it!
